Individual Strength: Consistency

Consistency and responsibility are two of Karen’s top five strengths as indicated on the CliftonStrengths assessment used here at The Wealth Conservancy. That, coupled with her nearly off-the-chart Kolbe score for Follow Through makes it no surprise that she is an excellent fit for the role of operations manager. Karen divides her time between client service, technology, compliance, human resources, and back-office duties, donning many hats often on a daily basis.

Karen attained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport, CT, where she was born and raised until moving to Colorado as a young adult. She joined The Wealth Conservancy in 2014 after easing herself back into full-time employment once her children were of school age, bringing with her years of experience in the areas of customer service, administrative support, technical support, and training. She gained expertise in “herding cats” while working as a substitute elementary school teacher and her penchant for systems as a result of her work as a government contractor – skills that have proved valuable in keeping us all moving forward in a positive, lock-step direction. While her degree may not have manifested itself in a clinical application, it serves to shape nearly all her interactions.

In her free time, Karen can be found testing out a new recipe, relaxing with a good book, or enjoying time with her family and friends. Though her children are in and through their teens, she is no less busy and cherishes whatever activities bring them all together as a family, be it paddling around a lake (preferably in the mountains), cruising the slopes (this is becoming more challenging to keep up), or enjoying a family meal.
